Annie is determined to find the parents who left her behind, but first she has to escape the clutches of the mean Miss Hannigan! Her journey takes her all over 1930s New York City, where she meets a kind billionaire, his lovable dog Sandy, and even the President of the United States! With iconic songs like “Tomorrow” and “Hard Knock Life,” Annie is funny, heartwarming, and full of amazing roles. Come audition and be part of the fun!

General Audition Details

  • Anyone currently in High School can audition for this show!

    We will also be opening up orphan casting to our Elementary and Middle School students. 

  • Auditions are August 8th. Auditions will be held at Cornerstone Church (no religious affiliation.)

    Check-in starts at 3:00 pm.
    Dance auditions are from 3:30-4:00 pm. Dance auditions are mandatory. Audition slots of 8 minute increments will follow. Audition times below. You MUST sign up for an audition time! 

    IMPORTANT NOTES:

    • Call back date will be given when the callback email is sent. We will ask for your availability at time of audition.

    • If you want to audition for this show, and you can not make audition times, please still fill out this form! Then email us at anne@deltaperformingartsacademy.com for further instructions. Thank you!

    • You will want to bring jazz shoes, character shoes, or tennis shoes to your audition.
      Please wear comfortable but dance appropriate attire for your audition day.

    • You will come between 3:00–3:30pm, and get checked in with our front administrator, and get ready for your dance audition.

    • After your dance audition, you will have your private 8 minute audition time with our Director, Musical Director, Choreographer, and any Guest Casting Crew.

    • When you're done, you are free to go! 

  • We will send out the cast list by August 14th by email.

  • Read through is scheduled for August 17th 7:30–9:30pm. Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 7:30–9:30pm. Depending on your character will determine when your child will be there. A rehearsal schedule will come out with a detailed schedule after casting.

    • Performance weekend is November 13th–15th.

    • Tech week is November 8th–12th. Tech week is mandatory.

Audition Prep Details

    • You will need to prepare one song and one monologue for your audition.

    • You will need to sing with the instrumental track for your audition.

    • Pick a song that best showcases your voice within the setting of “Annie”. We recommend you google "audition songs for “Annie”; it will give you a good start to appropriate audition songs for this show.

    • You do not have to memorize your song choice! We would rather have you there! But, ideally, memorizing the audition song is best! And it helps us see your character choices more.

    • What's most important is you show up and try your best. 

Show Logistics

  • $425*
    Plus $25 ANNUAL membership fee for those applicable.

    *The performance fee includes a Annie shirt they will receive before the show.

  • Fees are due on arrival at your audition time. Please make checks out to Delta Performing Arts Academy or DPAA. Fees are non-refundable. If you unable to pay the full amount upon arrival, please contact us privately to ask about payment options. anne@deltaperformingartsacademy.com. If, by some chance, your child does not make the show, we will set up a time to retrieve your payment or we can destroy it.

  • Yes, parents need to help in some capacity with the show. Whether that's painting sets, working concessions or working backstage, we need parent volunteers to help make this production a success! We hope that parents can rise to the occasion, so we don't have to charge any extra fees associated with the production. After rehearsals start, we will send out an email and ask where you would like to volunteer your time. Our expectation is 2-4 hours. Thank you for your cooperation!

Character Breakdowns

  • A street-wise orphan; she is eventually taken in by Oliver Warbucks. Spunky, friendly, big-voiced.

  • A successful businessman with a warm heart. Rich, stiff-collared, bullish.

  • Faithful secretary to Mr. Oliver Warbucks. Poised, sweet, gentle.

  • The other girls in the orphanage with Annie. These girls are gritty, neglected and vulnerable, yet basically honest and potentially loveable. Includes Molly, Kate, Tessie, Pepper, July, and Duffy.

  • The orphanage matron who hates children but is fond of liquor. Very disillusioned, bitter, and cold.

  • Miss Hannigan's no-good brother looking for a quick buck. A sleazy, slick con man.

  • Rooster's girlfriend, who is also out for a quick buck. She is considered to be a floozy and bimbo.

  • The ultimate radio personality. He helps Annie by broadcasting about the search for her birth parents.

  • The 32nd President of the United States. A Democrat and friend of Warbucks.
